Jared Miller is a sixth-year PhD candidate of French and Francophone studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Before studying at Penn, he completed a BA and MA in French studies at Brigham Young University. His research focuses on the romance genre from the 12th-15th centuries. He is particularly interested in questions of literary authority (auctoritas), the use of allegory in romance and gender dynamics within the ideologies of courtly love and chivalry.
