Cherpack Seminar Room - 543 Williams Hall
You are cordially invited to the last FSS (French Seminar Series) lecture of the semester on Thursday, April 5, at 5:00 pm, in Cherpack Seminar Room (Williams 543). Visiting PhD candidate Benjamin Dalton (King's College London) will give a talk entitled "Life in Plastic: What Should We Do With Plasticity?" Benjamin is currently working on his dissertation titled, "The Coming of Plasticity: Changing Transformation in Contemporary French Thought, Literature, and Film." His research focuses on contemporary French thought and culture, particularly the intersection of thought and science, and the growing field of the medical humanities. He is primarily interested in the work of contemporary French philosopher Catherine Malabou's concept of "plasticity”, and how it maps onto and resonates through cultural production. Benjamin is also the leader of the project “Narrating Plasticity” (https://narratingplasticity.wordpress.com/about/), and an assistant editor of the journal Intensities: Journal of Cult Media.
